Our recommendations
Food is an important part of a great vacation for us. The Dordogne is full of cozy bistros, atmospheric terraces, and surprisingly good pizzerias – and we’ve tried quite a few by now. In and around our house, we’re happy to share our favorite spots with you, so you won’t have to spend long looking for a great place to eat.
Whether you’re in the mood for a crispy wood-fired pizza, a leisurely French lunch, or a romantic dinner: these are the places we love to return to.

L’Escapade Gourmande
L’Escapade Gourmande in Ribérac is a cozy bistro and pizzeria with a warm, local atmosphere. You’ll find tasty wood-fired pizzas, but also classic French dishes. Ideal for a relaxed evening out in the heart of Ribérac.
Bistrot Les Cluzeaux
Les Cluzeaux is an atmospheric bistro-restaurant where local products are combined in a creative way, often with surprising international accents. A lovely place for those looking for just a bit more culinary experience, only a short drive from Cherval.
Restaurant à Fleur d’Eau
This charming restaurant is located right on the River Dronne and has a beautiful terrace overlooking the water. A wonderful place for a relaxed lunch or dinner, where in summer you can often sit outside and enjoy the peace.
Le Lavoir
Rustic and charming restaurant in the small village of Siorac, about 5 km from Ribérac. Here you sit in a rural setting, surrounded by local stone facades and the village church. The cuisine is traditional but with some originality, depending on the season and the chef’s inspiration.

The interior is comfortable, the atmosphere warm and relaxed, with a lovely terrace where you can take in the surroundings.

La Tour des Vents ⭐
Located on the heights of the Monbazillac vineyard, with panoramic views over the valley. One Michelin star, refined cuisine that combines regional products with creativity.
La Récré Gourmande
Beautifully located on a rural estate just outside Brantôme, with an atmospheric restaurant in an old stone building. The dishes are refined and creative, with local influences. The large, shady and partly covered terraces outside make it especially pleasant to dine here on a warm evening.
Le Calice Bar & Restaurant
In the heart of Verteillac you’ll find Le Calice, with both a front and a rooftop terrace. A friendly bar-restaurant, ideal for relaxing with friends, enjoying the sun, a beer, or a light meal.
Café des Colonnes
This is a classic café/brasserie in the center of Ribérac. They have a terrace, a very relaxed atmosphere, and it’s a popular meeting spot among locals. Perfect for a drink in the sun.
