Walking and cycling
The vast landscapes around Cherval offer endless walking and cycling routes. You can trek through sunflower fields, forests and rolling hills, enjoying the beautiful views along the way.
Cycling is popular here because of the quiet roads and rural charm.
Canoeing and kayaking
Dordogne's rivers, such as the Dronne and the Vézère, are perfect for canoeing and kayaking. From the water, you will discover the natural beauty of the region, passing castles, forests and picturesque villages.
If you are a more experienced canoer, the Dordogne River is of course an essential part of your holiday! Then you can visit the beautiful village of Sarlat right away.
Visiting castles and caves
The Dordogne is known for its impressive castles, such as the Château de Bourdeilles and Château de Puyguilhem, both within driving distance of Cherval.
For history and culture buffs, the prehistoric caves, such as the Grotte de Villars and the Grotte de Lascaux, are definitely worth a visit.
Markets and local products
In nearby villages such as Riberac and Verteillac, you will find lively markets selling local produce, including fresh fruit, vegetables, cheese and cold cuts. These markets are a great way to experience local culture and sample the region's gastronomy.
Also don't forget the nice market in Perigeux or Brantome!
And every 1st Sunday of the month there is a very large Brocante in Verteillac.
